It was the middle of may when the First Hellenic scout group went to Arrow park to camp for 2 nights and 3 days . As soon as we arrived at the park we were allocated to a certain area to build and creat our camp site, the boys had 3 tents and the girls had 2, as the night went on we spent our time modifying our camp site and making fire to keep ourselves warm and comfy. When all of us were hungry from the long days work we then prepared dinner and ate it with glee.
After our hearty “delicious meal” we then proceeded to our tents to lay our heads down and go to bed to wake up early for the next exhausting day
6 o’clock was the time when we were woken up by men and women playing deafening bagpipes and if that’s not enough we were forced out of our tents to do P.E. We had to endure 40 minutes of utter pain. Our compensation was a deliciously scrumptious warm meal , when our enjoyment was over we had time to explore and convicate as we deeply enjoyed as we met new people and formed new friends after the fun had ended we went straight back to our camp site and continued to work on the raft and further modify our camp site. Later on that night I storm started to appear and it rain heavily causing floods around our tents so we had to dig in the ground and make pathways for the rain to flow. Our cover for the dinner table was flying of due to the strong force of the storm wind and we had to repeat it which took a bit of time, eventually we had time to rest but it was very tough as we had to try to fall asleep in the blistering cold in the boat hall with other scouts, we had blankets and our sleeping bags but that didn’t help us at all with keeping us warm.
The last day we woke up the same way as we did the previous day. We continued to build our raft and do the finishing touches, the day was dark and gloomy with a extremely cold atmosphere which we even saw snowflakes.
It was time for packing up my favorite part of this camp as we were near to the end of our torture, we were doing this in mud and rain, we eventually finished up with untying the lashes and ropes and packed our bags and the crates in the combi and were ready to head back home.
We finally got home and were very exited to go home and sleep in a warm and comfy bed which we all did and enjoyed.
