KonTiki 2023 was a memorable one for sure… especially since there was not a single drop of rain all weekend!! 
Here are some of the scouts’ experiences in their own words…
Marina
This year Kontiki was really fun. I got to learn more about my troop members and grow a stronger relationship with my friends. Some people got frustrated and weren’t that happy. I really enjoyed the food especially our first dinner. I enjoyed the first dinner because I made it with my best friend at scout’s Anna. The cool thing about this year Kontiki was that it did not rain but it was still cold. Next Kontiki we should take in consideration of what the inspectors of our camp said that we could have done better.
Meghan
Kontiki this year was a lot of fun, I’m glad we didn’t have to build a raft this year because we probably wouldn’t have been able to make a seaworthy one. My favourite part of kontiki this year was having free time on Saturday, it allowed us to just rest a bit and even meet someone from the other camp. My least favourite part of kontiki was that we didn’t get enough time to plan which made it very difficult to have any idea of what was going on and there was a lot of confusion. Other than that, there were a lot more highs than there were lows, but most of all, I’m just glad it didn’t rain.
Luca
Kontiki was fun all around, but it was mostly fun while building and doing activities and the jokes that came with it. The worst parts in my opinion was trying to work together when people weren’t listening and it not raining (im totally serious 👍)

For my first Kontiki as land captain, I think it went surprisingly well. For me, the best part was when I got to sleep! But also when we all got to sit around the fire.
I think the only bad thing was when the parents came, it was nice but quite stresful.
therwise, it was amazing, especially the weather.
